Dunno how far you are into season two, but a lot of it is nearly unbearable and shit. The finale is a necessary preparation for the new season, so you probably need to watch it all if you can sit through it.

Is it! I just decided to chuck at the end of S2 e14. I even read the remaining story line on the interwebz! 😮 Guess I am looking for something new. I tend to leave things halfway and its not just with TV series. Its just how I am.

On the whole, I am pretty happy with my last 2 years with regards to catching up on my TV series backlog. Just gotta find whats next!

There are some anime guys here, aren't there? I'm watching Fullmetal Alchemist at the moment and enjoying it, so I'll probably watch more if you have some recommendations. A plus if it's dubbed in English.

Have never really been that into anime, but I'd recommend Trigun, Haibane Renmei, and Serial Experiments: Lain.

Attack on Titan is pretty much a must watch.

If you want more mainstream shows, I'd recommend Death Note, Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell

Best thing I've seen on telly this year though I haven't seen Twin Peaks series III yet.

I haven't seen The Handmaid's Tale yet, but the book is incredible. Margaret Atwood is probably my favourite still living writer. I'm gonna binge the show this summer.

Same Burnsy. I just took a week to rewatch the old Twin Peaks show after watching the first four episodes of the continuation. They appear even more brilliant when you've got the whole story fresh in your mind. You'd have to think the odds have shortened significantly on Kyle MacLachlan picking up an Emmy. It's not just the show that is turning back the decades here.

Yes, McLachlan's doing brilliant work in a dual role at the moment, and there are massive fanservice payoffs in every single episode.

Coop as "Dougie" is frustrating and heartbreaking, he's a brilliant metaphor (or depiction) of the heartache of brain disease for so many families. I've heard people are complaining about the slow progress but that's because of how effectively it's building tension.

i'm up to the finale of handmaids tale. it's tough to watch at times, but quite riveting

They're probably afraid that these 17 episodes are all that they're going to get, but I wouldn't worry about it. The show has a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It's been praised virtually everywhere. Showtime would be mad to not make more seasons.

Not that it makes much of a difference, but it has 95%. What does matter is that it's not uncommon for TV shows to get ratings that high on there, so I'd say that the 74 Metascore is more accurate of its reception. I don't think that qualifies to being "praised virtually everywhere" to be honest, the highest praise of it I read on here.

Just watched a couple of episodes of the handmaid's tale. Just sadistic and gory. No thanks. Already got my dystopian fetish whetted for this year with the man in the high castle. No patience for another slow motion, whispering speak, no lighting show.

Lulz I don't give a fuck what the critical metascore is as a judgement of the work. It's very good if it's to your taste.

But Klaus is right that the reception and viewer numbers might open up the possibility of more episodes. Not sure that'd be great if they've got a strong concept with integrity planned out over this one season.
