Never watched any Star Trek expect the new movies, but Discovery look decent. Does it stand alone?

Just watched the Agents of Shield finale. John Hannah really is awesome, and Mallory Jansen should definitely get some more work after this.

I think it will, yeah. It takes place ten years before the old show with William Shatner, so there will probably be some form of connection, but I don't think it amounts to more than small references and certain characters that were important to the era making an appearance (Sarek, Spock's father, can be seen in the trailer for instance). It's not going to be a prequel show that sets up TOS or any of its main characters though.

It's ridiculous. You'd think with issues surrounding piracy they'd release it asap. They're lucky I've got other things to watch for the time being. Like The Americans which I couldn't be bothered to wait for, not on ITV and certainly not for Amazon.

I am an impatient man and in fairness, I'm not the only one. The networks should take that into consideration.

Speaking of impatience, have accidentally caught up with Better Call Saul on Netflix despite despite wanting to build it up so that I don't end up having to wait. It's a great season so far, but I'm not sure how I feel about the emerging links to Breaking Bad. I mean, I guess it was inevitable and it's obviously part of the premise, but I liked that this show had a different vibe and it's now slowly starting to feel like you're watching an extension to BB.

Jimmys story isn't too much and I like the way they used Huell as link to BB but the Mike stuff is very BB now. I'm still enjoying the shit out of it but it feels like 2 very different shows in one at the moment.

The new Twin Peaks is fucking amazing lads, get on it. Just watched the first two episodes.

I watched the 2hr premiere and it is fucking terrifying. Lynch you beautiful man, you've done it again.

I'd never been so excited for a movie or series as i was before the season 3 opener yesterday.

It didn't let me down. God damn i love David Lynch.

It's amazing. It looks like Lynch had a great time making fun of every stereotype to ever come out of Twin Peaks too.

It's so good so far. If it keeps up at this level (which admittedly I'm not sure it will) it will set a new benchmark.

Such a great reboot so far. The combination of art, surprise and meticulous fanservice is amazing.

I'm loving it too. Off the top of my head I think this is as good as Lynch has been since his pre-Mulholland Drive days. It's moving way too slow for me to watch at a weekly pace though. I'm gonna take a break and then binge it when it's done.

Fargo Season 3 has been absolute garbage for me. Don't like any of the characters and the plot is stale.

It's the worst season by some margin, definitely. Still enjoy it very much, but during season 2 it was probably my favorite show. The last episode was very good though.

The plot was better for season 2 but can't beat Lester Nygaard and Malvo as characters. Not seen 3 yet.

Twin Peaks was on my watch list for last few years and had not David Lynch come out with season 3 it might have been so for a good few years more. Started watching S1 last week and now I am a third into S2. Dale Cooper is such a great character.

I like the storytelling and the whole noir-ish feel it has though as S2 is progressing I am finding it a tad too 'artistic?'. S1 was brilliant though. Hoping to finish the rest this week and get on with S3!
