Almost done with Shooter. Episode 9. Really enjoy just looking at Cynthia Addae Robinson more than anything. Story had great potential, but a some major issues. They needed to develop the villains earlier and make them seem less like caricatures. But most importantly, they needed to wrap it up much faster, in about 6 episodes to keep it punchy. There are too many episodes that feel like Prison Break S2 where Scofield and his compatriots are just involved in never-ending foot and car chases.

That's about as obvious as how clear it was that this season was going to be the same old story. You managed to spot one but not the other, Claude!

Hahaha. I don't watch a lot of TV. Really only GoT and Westworld this past year, so it's hard for me to separate the shiznit from the shit.

Regarding Westworld, the Nolans really shouldn't be allowed to write for the screen. They produce flat kit-on-a-page characters in a way that makes it seem like they haven't talked to an ordinary human being or had an ordinary life moment in decades.

Did you watch Person of Interest? I think those criticisms are spot on at the start of that show but over time Jonathan Nolan managed to turn them into decent characters. I don't think that will happen on Westworld though, especially now that they are moving to a GOT style writing and production schedule. People complain about the length of network TV seasons and often for good reason but sometimes they offer the room for writers to learn what the story and characters need. The production model for them also means a good show will be able to adjust their characters as they go along to match up better with the actors. I don't think thats going to happen in Westworld.

They are all different eras. TV show to movies work about as often as any other type of TV show.

Really liking the Negan character on TWD. Probably the best villain the show has had. Really hated The Governor.

I find him to be really tedious. His gestures, exagerated posture and lame jokes just end up annoying me most of the time. I much preferred the Governer.

Sherlock finale was terrible.

Have only caught the first of the three episodes myself, I feel the dialogue has gotten increasingly clunky throughout the shows run and I found it almost unbearable this time around.

One brilliant Sherlock episode sandwiched between an opening episode that was just so so and a finale that was completely flat.

They keep forgetting that the best thing about Sherlock has always been the sleuthing, the parsing of clues and the final reveal.
Focusing uniquely on the psychological game between the villain du jour and Sherlock, without any other mystery to solve, is quite dull.

That it arlight Y Va. Too focussed on making a new cool villain of Moriarty proportions. Unfortunately the villain was incredibly dull in the end. Get back to London, do a few proper stories with investigations in the real world not just an hour and a half of "oh you didn't see that coming!" over and over and over until you're completely numb to it.

that's a shame. i haven't watched the finale yet, but after the events of the previous episode, my expectations weren't very high anyway

The finale of Sherlock was horrible.

Actually enjoyed most of the finale for what it was, but what it was definitely wasn't Sherlock.
