Just didn't want to spoil season 2 stuff. Its very good in season 2, slightly less funny but overall more interesting and engaging. Although the episode with Jimmys family is pretty bad.

I still have high hopes for sense8. There is great potential there for something really brilliant to emerge. They said themselves they viewed the first season as a very long pilot (which is probably the main problem with it) so I'm really hoping the next season ups the pace and kicks into gear. Of course it could go completely the other way either. Still I'm interested to find out.

I've just finished The Shield. I wanna talk about it generally in a bit of depth when I get time, but I can comfortably say it's the best tv series I've ever seen. That finale definitely lived up to all the hype from you guys.

It's a great show no doubt, I usually detest all shows with a case-of-the-week type structure, which have made me quit on countless shows including critically acclaimed ones like Justified. But The Shield has such a strong sense of direction it perserveres and thrives even in that clunky setting. And like The Sopranos the show doesn't hold your hand throughout but trusts you to pick up on things instead of having some contrived "let me explain whats up to this guy here but I'm really talking to the viewer"-bullshit. Top show.

It's really only the first season of Justified that has a case-of-the-week structure.

The Shield was high on my list of shows I should watch, but if it's a procedural I doubt I'll ever find the motivation to start.

The Shield is not a procedural and you should absolutely watch it.

I've just fallen into rewatching the Sopranos again and, for me, that is the best thing ever. But The Shield runs it a very close second. As Michael Chiklis used to say: The Shield- it's so wrong!

Justified only has that for the first few episodes. Then it goes all serialised.

Speaking of the Shield Shawn Ryan has some sort of time travel show starting soon. I'll be checking that out because I'll try anything he makes after The Shield and Terriers.

I keep watching Arrow in the hopes it'll find a plot line as good as season 2, which really is the only good season of it.

What a riot that show was. It still pisses me off to no end that it got canned after a few episodes.

First season is very good, second season ok, the third season was a mess and I couldn't get through it. I would say it's worth a watch to see if you like it, if only for the opening credits which are fucking cool.

Its all over the place IMO. Theres some good acting and some absolutely shocking acting. An awful lot of silliness, zero substance and very obvious attempts to make it look cool which fail more often than they succeed. I'd say the first season is just about watch-able and the second season is utter shit. And because of that I never watched the 3rd season.

But its definitely bad TV IMO. Doesn't even pass for a guilty pleasure because it takes itself too seriously.
