So people thought … the second season of True Detective was … bad?

Been a bit busy lately so we only just got around to watching the last couple of episodes. Thought the whole season was quite rich and satisfying, the way the plot unravelled was terrific, and the finale had just enough hope in it to keep me on edge the whole way through.

I think people just expected too much after season 1. Season 2 is still excellent.

I don't think it was significantly worse than season two, in the end. Had a lot going for it.

Narcos. Seems like a fun, fast paced show. Some of the montages gave off a strong Breaking Bad vibe, which they no doubt were going for. Some good actors in there aswell.

Anyone know the best way to stream popcorn time to TV? It's a bit too much effort to connect the laptop with a HDMI cable every time, some way to steam it would be good.

Thanks, though it seems like PT has a lot more than chromecast support, works with pretty much any DNLA device to hooks up nicely to my Roku in the bedroom and the Smart TV in the living room. 🙂

The last Hannibal episode was definitely one of the better series finales I've seen.

The last couple of episodes of Witnesses (les Témoins) were ridiculous, particularly the final one.
It was so promising initially, haunting and mysterious, cold and blue grey, charismatic principle characters.
Descended into rather embarassing clichés.
And what flic in their right mind sets out solo to catch killers and gives chase in stiletto boots?

Narcos had a promosing start but ran out of steam. Wasn't that into the second half of the season. Felt very rushed in parts. Still worth a watch I'd say.

Enjoyed the end of Hannibal.

Don't think there NEEDS to be anymore. A satisfying conclusion, open to multiple interpretations.

Added a lot of depth this season. Brilliant humour as usual, but they've managed to mix it with some really good drama.

Only a few episodes in but the third season of the Americans has been excellent so far.

Finished season 3, easily the best so far in my opinion.

Finished True Detective's second season. Got a lot better as the season went on, very different to the first one (which was better) but I still liked it. I was impressed by Vince Vaughn especially, didn't think he was a serious actor before.

Really liked Mr. Robot in the end. Could have fallen apart at any stage but it worked really well over all and is nicely poised for season 2. Love the production values too and the little tips of the hat they give to films that inspire the show. Its all very confidently put together.
