Watched THE WHEEL OF TIME adaptation.
The book series has the distinction of being the first fiction I ever put down thinking "this just isn't worth it", which was around book five, I think. Also it was remarkably sexist.
The adaptation is really quite well done, it's aesthetically coherent, casting is fine, feels like the world of the books, and they've fixed up some of the troublesome aspects in a way that makes the source material better.
But it's pretty damn obvious by the end of season one that the whole shebang is going to go round in circles and nowhere forever, without any clear stakes or development for the characters.
