Only Murders in the Building is pretty great, the three main cast all perform well. Like Asterix I'm also impressed by Gomez. Just watched all the available episodes today, the finale will be streaming next week.
Squid Games was also good, although I didn't like the ending.
The main character getting on the plane would've been a much better ending. The games continue, but he still decides to be with his daughter. Instead they're clearly setting the show up for another season. To be fair I guess maybe the point is that he did all this for his daugther and even if he won he's still breaking his promises and not being there for her, but it just feels like it's done as a setup rather than the director wanting to tell a story about how at his core he's still the same shitty father and person he was in the beginning. I guess the cop part of the story doesn't feel complete at all either if they weren't planning on a season 2, but I'd much rather they made this a miniseries. Can't see a season 2 being as interesting.
Also, the English speaking characters were laughably bad. It's not just the actors' fault to be fair, the script for them was terrible. I saw someone point out that the script was probably written in Korean, then translated to English without accounting for the fact that different languages don't flow the same way. Also read a comment from one of the VIP actors saying he had asked the director about one of his lines ("oh, it's bigger!" when seeing the real glass bridge). He'd apparently asked why his character would say such a thing as it would obviously be bigger than the model bridge in their VIP lounge, but didn't get anywhere by asking questions so he just ended up reading the lines knowing how bad they were.
