Didn't watch Season 2, doubt I will.
I agree the setting (landscape) is beautiful, but I think the best part of the setting is the clash of different forces (ranch life, private interests and Indian rights). That's what I thought was going to be so compelling but they did a disservice of each by focusing on dramatic characters instead of diving deep into the actual interests.
Had they followed the approach of a more serious show - say The West Wing - it could have been an epic series.
If you haven't watched it Wind River (by Tyler Sheridan) is quite good.
