Berardi scored a neat freekick against Milan today, his 8th goal against them in 4 or 5 games. The Milan fans cheered when he went off towards the end because it meant no more goals.

Salah with a wonderful goal for Roma to put them in front.

Then Gervinho scores with a superb counter attack. Tearing Serie A apart again.

Gabbiadini being left on the bench again. Sarri is an idiot.

Harsh, he's got Napoli playing their best football probably since the days of Maradona. The competition for the front three/four is very strong to be fair to him.

Think that's quite an exaggeration personally. He's got a long way to go before he matches Mazzarri's side a few years back.

To be fair to him, though, Gabbiadini was probably rested today after playing midweek. Mertens was on the bench too.

Are Napoli winning. I've got a good payday coming my way if they win tonight

They won.

Klaus, sure it's too early to say he's built a better side than Mazzarri a few years back but I think this team is much more entertaining to watch, plus it has a lot more game changers than the teams which outside of Cavani and Hamsik relied on the likes of Pandev and Dzemaili.

They had Lavezzi too who was pretty awesome for a few seasons. But yeah, this version is more entertaining. I can't see it do any real damage in Champions League though, while Mazzarri's Napoli definitely could.

Lavezzi was quality but they were overall a weaker side when he was playing for them. Should have had a bigger career in my opinion, his goal vs Milan was top class:

Yeah, Lavezzi should have had a much bigger career. I think talent-wise he's just beneath the top tier, but his ego is world class. He's a bit like Antonio Cassano in that sense maybe, with the same unfortunate outcome.

Cassano is an uncanny comparison actually, both talent and personality wise. Both tend to pop up with big performances in big games too, Lavezzi was probably the best player on the pitch in the WC final 2014 and I thought back then Argentina could have nabbed it if he hadn't gone off at HT.

Pogba just scored a sensational goal against Torino.

Video of the goal:

I wouldn't term that sensational.

It's an incredible goal. A few more angles here:

He just flicks it up and socks it in. The keeper doesn't even move.

Juventus are enjoying their worst start to a league season in 46 years, it's 1-1 in the 85th minute at home against Torino... and Allegri takes off a striker and puts on another defender.

Marchisio with an insane header in the bar now. Juventus best player. Meanwhile, Padelli in the Torino goal is taking everything they throw at him, either by skill or luck. He's even overshadowing Buffon tonight.

Incredible. Cuadrado toes it in from two yards in the 94th minute. This goals means everything to Juventus. There would have been a lynching after the game if they had failed to win here.

They are basically doing a Chelsea. Incredible how similar their situations is after winning the league.

Handanovic just made 4 saves consecutively. Amazing.

He's been one of the best goalkeepers this season. Inter's top of the league now!

Very impressed with Jovetic again. There's so much football in him.

I'd be a little pissed off if I were a Slovenian football fan, the two greatest talents the country has produced in ages in Handanovic and Oblak are both goalies.

Also Serie A is probably the most interesting league to follow in Europe this season. The top teams are very evenly matched and the overall quality of all teams has significantly improved as well.

Yeah, it's been that way for 2-3 years now in my opinion. It's just really fun to watch. Tactical and technical ceiling is high and the football doesn't become static. There's a lot of identity to many of the teams.

I got pissed off watching Chelsea-Liverpool today by contrast, same as City-United last week. Both were horrible fucking matches that bored me out of my mind. So many millions running around on the pitch at the same time and so very little special qualities to show for it. Premier League is incredibly disappointing from an entertainment aspect at the moment. It's funnier following Mourinho's breakdown through the media than actually watching most of the teams play.

I agree that Serie A has been on the up for at least a year or two, but the title race has been rather straightforward in the last years I'd say. You're right about the rest though, I still prefer Spanish football overall but tactically Serie A has always been Europe's apex.

Both the Torino derby and Inter v Roma were thoroughly enjoyable games.

😆

Nagatomo had an excellent game keeping Salah quiet. Mancini is an idiot for starting him so rarely. Juan Jesus is nowhere near as good.

Bertolacci makes it 1-0 for Milan after houseboat keeping from Marchetti. The goal was all Cerci though. He's starting to look like his old self again.

Cerci hits the post from zero angle after a beautiful takedown. Love that guy. Could have been a superb goal.

Video of Cerci's chance:

Such elegance.

It's been a dull game otherwise. Lazio look like they didn't expect Milan to turn up today. Anderson has done very little because he never gets the ball. Hoping for improvement in the second half.

Alex gets knocked out cold and is carried off the pitch, still unconscious. Mexes gets subbed on and scores with his first ball touch.

Typical Milan match.

Yeah, Lazio have been disappointing.

Cerci has been impressive.

I'd say that goal was all Marchetti to be honest, dreadful keeping. Milan are playing Donnarumma in goal now for a few weeks by the way, doesn't really look out of place despite being born in 1999. To put it in perspective, Abbiati who's still on the club's books moved to Milan a year before Donnarumma was born.

He wasn't very good for Lazio's goal, haven't seen anything from him that seems extraordinary, other than his age.

I think it's extraordinary already that he doesn't look completely lost out there. Haven't seen too much but I read he's supposed to be a Buffon level talent and that people aren't even surprised he's already made it into the first team because apparently he's been known for a good few years already.

A 106 year old Massimo Maccarone just scored against Juventus. They're 0-1 down to Empoli away.
