The Puskas Award lost all credibility in its first year already when Ronaldo's goal vs Porto was voted ahead of Nilmar's against Corinthians. It's useful to get to see some goals from exotic leagues like the one by Ramirez or Wendell Lira but other than that it's mostly politics who wins, like all personal football awards.
There is no question for me that Messi should win this anyway, in fact even second place should go to him (vs Bayern).
