That's a great way to put it.
The man hardly ever had to dive and that's even before we mention his distribution and command of the area.
Not by much but peak Seaman would have displaced peak Lehmann, for me.

Was a big save against Lewandowski, a few minutes later we go down the other end and score but it could have been so different. So reassuring having a top class keeper again, like Neuer showed even the best can slip up.

Cech is a massive difference maker. Seems to be have found some of the best form.of his career too.

Cech's a big game player - even in his worst seasons he always pulled it out of the bag in the games that mattered.

Seriously, what kind of saves were those by Neuer?! The one on Walcott's header is one of the best saves I have ever seen. So happy that Mesut scored, but how the hell did he get to that ball?!

Both were weak attempts.

Walcott's attempt was infuriating. He didn't add any speed to the ball, and he sent it right down the middle instead of 10 to 20 degrees to the right. Amateur hour. As for Ozil, he never seemed to hit the ball true in this game. Kept hitting it into the ground and not getting the right speed.

Cech? Currently the best goalie in the Premier League. Even Ospina will likely tell Wenger to stop messing around with the team.

Neuer's save on Walcott was technically similar to the Seaman one vs Sheffield United we were talking about the other day. Brilliant save.

i give walcott a slight pass because the ball was travelling at pace at a low trajectory, and he was unsighted by 2 leaping bayern defenders. not as easy at it looks.

Yup. If anything was amateur it was the premature celebration.

If an attempt forces one of the best saves you'll ever see, then it wasn't a weak attempt. I agree Walcott could have, and probably should have, angled the ball more, but that exact effort is a goal 99 times out of a hundred. If anything, the save is similar to the one Cech pulled off at the feet of Benteke.

I don't think Neuer's save was anywhere near Seaman's to be fair. It's still a class save but it's not one of the best I've ever seen. The ball was at the right height, didn't have much power and he already moved in that direction. Part of what made Seaman's save so special is that none of that was true for him.

Most players could probably have scored with their knee from that distance though. There's very little chance that the keeper will get there. Can't blame Theo for showing up at the right place.

Fucking brilliant. Had my doubts about how much form he could regain having been on the bench for a whole season but my word, I think we may just have the best keeper in the world right at this moment in time.

Agree with you Klaus - it was just technically similar, not on the same level. Still a top drawer save however.

I think its very similar and on the same level because both of them takes an incredible amount of strength to keep it out. It almost looks like they "pushed" it out rather than palm it out instinctively on replays.

I was thinking about that too, luckily the ref gave the goal because it was unbelievable he could get to that. For Theo's, you could say he could have headed it into the corner better instead of centrally but Mesut's effort was on his favoured foot and pretty powerful.

Neuer is different class, so happy to see him fumble for our goal.

He made an error when we beat them in Munich too, also on a set piece. Seems like he saves his errors for us 😆

I wouldn't have been anywhere even approaching confident of closing that game out at 1-0 with any of our keepers bar Cech in goal.

As much as anything he adds technically and with his experience, there's just a presence and fear factor about having him there. It's fantastic after so many years of repeated amateurish displays.
