He's the best keeper in the League. And I truly believe it's not even close. Courtois and De Gea are, maybe, better at making extraordinary saves, but all round it's a no contest in my view. He's just such a clever footballer, full of nouse and experience, makes all the right decisions.
I've been thinking the same thing lately.
I read an interview with Christoph Lollichon a while back where he compared Cech to Courtois. He called him "the complete keeper", saying it was different to work with the two because Courtois is just getting started while Cech is already equipped to face whatever comes his way out there. I'm probably simplifying his point here, but the gist of it was that he seemed to rate Cech higher of the two, going as far as claiming that it was 'very difficult' to see him on the bench last season.
That unfortunate West Ham performance aside I think he's won us a number of points already, and I think it's starting to rub off on the defence. It's been a long time since our defenders felt that the keeper really had their backs.
