Giroud is a good solid international centre forward, he's not world class and he's never going to score like Henry or Wright but its not his fault Wenger wont go out and buy a better player to be first choice ahead of him. At the moment there is no serious competition at the club for Giroud and thats a massive issue.
I think another serious issue is that we play like a relegation team that is desperate for points. Those are the only ones who keep changing their main striker every week.
We all know that Arsenal are quite a bit behind the top teams both in Premier League and in Europe. But you stick to the basics in that case. Continuity, organisation, defined roles. Wenger is doing the exact opposite at the moment. He can't decide whether he wants to play Giroud or Walcott up front. He doesn't know if he wants players who exploit space in front of the defence or in behind it. Özil gets injured so he starts a central midfielder as a #10 and an attacking midfielder as a central mid to cover for it. We overload the left flank and the central area, and yet we neither stretch play nor control the midfield.
All players have flaws; some of them bigger than others. You build teams that minimise their individual weaknesses until you can sort it out. We're in the habit of building teams that minimise our strengths instead.
