I'd take anyone named Tokyo Sexwhale. Coolest name I have ever heard. 🙂

I was coming to post exactly that Rex. Blows Eden Hazard and Goodluck Jonathan out of the water!

😆
What about Bongo Christ what's he doing these days?

Delighted Platini is being dragged through the mud too.

Platini initiated FFP which I think was a good initiative and a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, UEFA didn't have the stones to follow through with that. He did SOMETHING to right what's wrong in football, and he deserves credit for that in my book.

Platini is also a corrupt fucker who pushed the Qatar bid in exchange for a cushy job for his son. Hope he goes to jail with the rest of them.

Didn't France vote for Blatter as well in the last presidential election? I don't know how much influence Platini has with the French FA but I found the whole thing extremely dubious.

Johansson is a good guy. Like, a genuinely standup person whose life and personality is built on moral principles. I know that sort of thing doesn't mean much these days, but football would have been so much better off with him helming FIFA for the past decade and a half. He was always in it solely because of his love for football. His open stance against Joao Havelange - who seems to have been just as corrupted as Blatter - cost him big time.

In other news, Spiegel have been making accusations that Germany bought the World Cup 2006 and that Beckenbauer knew about it: http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/documents-indicate-slush-fund-used-in-german-world-cup-bid-a-1058212.html

We're really reaching a point soon where people need to decide if FIFA as an organisation is even redeemable. It would be easier to just create something new from the ground up, with full transparency right from the beginning.

They should build a new fifa. Fifa+ and put Wenger in charge.

More developments today, it really is like a mafia: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/34413693

Here are the key points from the US Department of Justice news conference after more charges were brought in the Fifa corruption scandal:

16 more officials have been charged by US officials investigating corruption at football's world governing body Fifa

Former Concacaf president Jeffrey Webb has pleaded guilty to money laundering, wire fraud and racketeering

Seven other defendants have also pleaded guilty
"Every culpable individual who remains in the shadows...you will not escape our focus" - US Attorney General

The US Department of Justice: "The new charges unsealed today bring the total number of individuals and entities charged to date to 41.

"Of those, 12 individuals and two sports marketing companies have already been convicted as a result of the ongoing investigation.

"The convicted defendants have agreed to pay more than $190 million in forfeiture."

if they're agreeing to pay 190m in forfeiture, jebus h christ how much did they steal over the years. a billy?

That is a scary thought.

Some irony that the country that cares least about football stands to financially gain the most by fighting its corruption.

Well that's why they bothered to get involved at all.
