Malen has had a very bad 12 months or so. Nketiah has well and truly overtaken him in that time. Not even a close run thing between those two anymore. Not really surprised to see him move on.

We could sell him within the league probably, but again, who'd want to take a punt on a player on starter wages who couldn't buy a game for most of last season? This seems to be the big problem with Arsenal at the moment. We've spent too much on mediocrity.

Should loan them, hope they have a good season and sell them later on for good money.

Might have a buy-back clause or a very good sell-on clause, Clrnc. He has talent, but, as I said, really struggled. Wish him well in Holland.

I do like Lucas for the record. I'd start him if it were up to me. But he's just dead weight here since Wenger is never going to give him a fair chance.

Every bottom half PL club should be going mad to sign him IMO. Even a few top half ones. He's a very good player.

Had it on myself and all I've heard them saying is £35m + 5m in add-ons.

i always assumed wages just meant we would get a lower fee. lucas is probably worth 12m, but because of his wages maybe we only get 8m. but loaning him for nothing and letting his contract run down is stupid. cut your losses, get back what you can and move on. imo

I agree, but I suspect it's all about getting him off the wage bill at this stage, with only 8 ours left of the transfer window. We should have sold all of our wantaways and rejects much earlier, but for some reason that's never how this club works.

The fact that he's going indicates that we're bringing someone in though. I guess the Lemar rumours might be true after all.

I think he seriously believes that keeping Alexis will be a show of strength. He doesn't give a jot about the season or the fans or the club, just his power plays. Like trying to sell Mustafi, not playing Lucas all last season - this is just another Arsene Wenger power play. All he has done for the last few years now, to the detriment of any actual managerial stuff that he could have done.
