Good luck to the guy.

thanks for the goal against the scum and some good goal-line clearances

Yeah, he has had a few important plays, hasn't he? Prevented us from going down by 3 goals against Hull in the FA Cup Final. Made a superb last ditch tackle that ensured we got 4th.

Good luck to him. Just never improved as we would have hoped.

Best of luck to Gibbo.

Best of luck Gibbs, always liked him. Seems like a good lad.

The Times reckon we've told Ox to fuck off.

Liverpool & Ox's agent have played us a bit here. I think they felt we wouldn't entertain any bid from Liverpool, so he got one from Chelsea. Once we agree in principle that we will sell, he rejects them and out of the blue Liverpool com in. With a day left there isn't much time for arguing over things.

i love that we bend over backwards to please our own players and allow them to take advantage of us.

For someone like Gibbs I don't mind, guy has been here since he was a kid and it hasn't worked out. The problem is our transfer strategy is general is a complete and utter fucking shambles. To think we pay dickheads millions every year to be in charge and this happens every year. Absolute fucking shambles.

Meaning? No sale and letting him rot in the reserves during a World Cup year? πŸ™‚

Honestly we should do that - half the reason players jump ship is because they view Arsenal as a stepping stone and know Wenger won't get in the way if they tell him their heart isn't in it. If we make an example out of the Ox, it may put off some players but it'll stop the ones who do join from using the same tactics.

Meaning we told him he's no longer wanted in the club. I'm hoping if he can't work out a deal then we do let him rot in the reserves. No way he should get playing time over someone like Nelson.

We should have sold Gibbs 4 years ago.

Disagree with that, he's been a good backup for Monreal.

And they say he didn't have any skills.

We shouldn't persists with backup, he has never been good enough to challenge Monreal at any stage.

Should have gotten a proper LB and make them fight for the position. That's how to bring the level of competition up

Or buy/promote a top prospect until they're ready to take over.

he'll probably end up playing CM against bournemouth

I hope Ox doesn't end up at Chelsea (where he'll likely play as a wingback and win trophies) but would tell Liverpool to fuck off if they put in a  bid for him.  Classles club. That Firmino clause was soo childish, frankly embarrassing for a club of their stature

I mean that is pretty impressive. If only he had that level of consistency as a footballer!
