We've tried every possible combination to make Walcott work - the bottom line is that he's utterly useless over the course of a season even if he has a couple of good months. After 11 years I think it's time to accept that he's a write off.

He's not amazing but he still scored 10 goals last season. He's frustrating and if its a Theo or van Dijk situation obviously you do the the deal but Theo is more effective than he's given credit for.

He scored 10 goals last season. Quite impressive on the face of it but then you dig in and find that 8 of those goals came before the turn of the year. After that he only scored twice and his general performance is nothing special either way. That's been a trend for most of his career so frankly that makes him no more than a squad player.

Yeah he's a squad player. A more useful one than some of our lot.

But you want him in the first 11?

Sterling also scored 10 goals. No biggy.

Gibbs joined Brom, 7m.

Not really but if we were playing 4-3-3 in a Sanchez-Sterling swap world our options would be limited.

For 5M? While Wimmer goes for 18? Man, we're s**t.

Would love a Walcott swap for van Dijk but I still think the Dutchman will end up moving to Liverpool. Maybe we'll get Johnny Evans! 😆

We have known that for awhile. Gabriel is better than Wimmer but we are only selling him for what we bought. Same as Mustafi, selling to recoup. It's like theres no inflation at Arsenal.

Anyway summary

  • Gibbs moving to WBA for 5m
  • Mustafi to Inter on loan only if we can get a replacement
  • WBA only willing to let Evans join us if they can get a replacement. Their first choice is Mangala, but City won't let him leave unless they get Evans.

Players lose confidence in their manager, players get sold. Only at Arsenal.

That's why we shouldn't entertain the swap in the 1st place. A front 3 of Sterling-Laca-Walcott is of a club aspiring to remain in the Europa League forever

Well you can take Sterling out and replace him with Welbeck, thats what this time next year looks like.

Sterling is a quality player, we'd be lucky to get him at this stage.

A lot of City fans seemingly don't want to swap Sterling for Sanchez.

That's not the only alternative though is it

I think if we insist on Aguero or no deal City will budge in the end. Guardiola knows fully well his job is not guaranteed beyond this season, so he'd rather get his man now than wait till next season.

Have a sneaky feeling Alexis is old n busted. Got a Ric Flair bod

And of course signing Sterling is a no brainer, but it should be in addition to Aguero IMO

Apparently it's Sanchez + cash for Sterling (not Sanchez for Sterling + cash)

That's a bit shit actually

We'd need Aguero to agree to come here too though. Easier said than done.

Don't rate Sterling that highly.

No, thanks.

Ultimately, that deal strengthens City and not us. I think a lot has been made about Sanchez's performance on/off the pitch at the weekend when there is very little to read into. If he was desperate to go, he'd have handed in a transfer request.
