I'm sorry to see him go. Liked him as a player
That said Chambers should suit the right sides centre back position
Gabriel gone for only €10m?? Didn't yoi sign him for more than that very recently. What's the thinking behind the move. I can't quite remember if he's any good.
We sold him for £10m not €10m and we paid somewhere between £10m-11m for him. So it's all good. He wasn't exactly much of a success so getting our money back when he's also nearly 3 years older isn't too bad at all really.
I had slight hopes for him after we changed to 3 at the back, he was disgustingly bad before that, and then he gave away that penalty against Kane at White Hart Lane and that was that, for me.
He's been a massive flop so getting what we paid for him is ok. Goes to show though that there is very little risk in getting these players. I was never comfortable watching him, he was always a liability.
Don't mind how we've dealt with it- give them 2 years and ship them out if they're nothing special. No harm done.

Exactly. I wish we could do it we a few more who haven't pushed on since we signed them.

You must always remember that football has two markets. A market for transfers into mainland Europe and a market for transfers into England. If you're selling into mainland Europe and your player isn't a galactico, £10m is more than acceptable. It would've been nice to find some EPL mugs willing to pay £15m, but not necessarily worth the extra effort
No one who has actually seen Gabriel play could possibly expect more than 10 million for him. I think it's quite the coup from us to even get back what we paid for him.
Breaking even on the transfer fee isn't even the issue - as long as he's off our wage bill it's good enough
Jenko and Bramell both moving to Birmingham on loan as per the Mirror/Sky.
That's another two out. Take a really dim view on Jenko I have to say. Could have been playing Premier League football for Palace and is instead going on loan to Birmingham.
How's it possible that it's been 2 years and yet we are still struggling to get Jenkinson out of our wage bill permanently? All these good for nothing people.
Unbelievable how much dross Wenger has filled the squad with.

Official. Looks like just a season-long loan in both cases, no buy clauses at the end mentioned. Just glad neither will be playing games for Arsenal this season. Hopefully Jenkinson gets bought next summer off the back of it.
Good luck to them. Jenko is good enough for PL football.
His face. 😆

And then complains about the squad being too big. 😆
Still have the Bouche, Gibbs, Chambers, Wilshere, the Jeff, Coquelin, Maitland-Niles, Campbell, Theo, Lucas, and Akpom to get rid of 😆
Akpom linked with Celtic/Leeds. Lucas sounds like he should be back at Depor at some point this week.
I'm guessing we'll end up loaning a load of players out.

Because of this bullshit socialist wage structure that the board and Wenger have implemented. Which means bog average players getting paid well in excess of what their worth. When it comes to offload them, clubs won't match those wages and the players won't accept wage cuts.
