You're entitled to your opinion, but hopefully you're not saying that the difference between Cazorla and Özil is that the latter isn't made invisible in big games.

Yep that's the fact. It was pure coincidence we went for Ozil. Our first option was actually Di Maria until Ancelotti decided otherwise. I wont try to debate with Klaus on Ozil, he love him to bits and can do no wrong 😆

Back to Monreal, fantastic servant. Wish him all the best and hope he can come back to our club in some capacity after he retires

Yup. All the best to Nacho who will always be a fan's favourite like Cazorla who was naturally an attacking midfielder capable of playing on the wings due to his two-footedness. He filled in at number 10 as he was our most skilful player rather that it being his natural position. After we got a proper 10, he was moved back to the flanks but, by 2014, his legs were gone making him impotent on the wing so Wenger moved him to DLP in 2015.

I hold Monreal in very high esteem. Up there with Ramsey and Cazorla as the most respected post-Invincible Arsenal players.

Add Koscielny to that list, Jeddy boy. His tough breakup doesn’t change that.

Will miss Nacho. I was a big advocate of selling him, only because I felt it healthy to prune the tree. But he has been a phenomenal member. A leader who was willing to learn new things to improve the club.

We bought a replacement for Monreal. Of course, the club is completely fine with letting him go. It's not even remotely like the Koscielny situation where the club was forcing him to stay because we had spent exactly 0 quid on a CB. Hardly the same situation.

Elneny had a good debut season with us and he really should have moved to Leicester City to showcase his talents once he got supplanted here. He's actually got a really good final pass, and I think in his first season he naturally demonstrated his engine, distribution abilities and timing for supporting attacks. He looked quite short on confidence in his last few appearances, and shame it didn't end in a better way. I think he's a good player (dead wood is strong but I get it) and hopefully he turns it around to show out for a CL team after this loan.
