He almost certainly was the one who leaked negative shit about Wenger to the press (Honigstein in particular, I believe) during Wenger's last season, for what it's worth.

I recall Honigstein said his source was "the German players" in the locker room. I believe that was just Ozil, Mertesacker and Mustafi. I doubt Honigstein has any sort of direct line to Ozil. While Mertesacker may have had misgivings about the coaching, I doubt he would actively try to slander Wenger in the press. We already know Mustafi was trying to leave Arsenal to go to Inter after his first season at the club. It's known that he was disillusioned about something.

This is about the story about Wenger drawing a wolf on the whiteboard, FYI. I thought this all was already well-known.

and we also collapsed like a deflated balloon in the last half of the season. chelsea, who looked absolutely abysmal, wiped the floor with us in the europa league final. sure, they lost hazard, but what have we gained? our defense was shambolic for most of last season and it hasnt been addressed yet at all, except for maybe signing a CB and then loaning him out immediately.

we have so much dead weight in our first team and we havent moved any of it this summer. and for all the knocks on ramsey, at least you knew he could score goals and get into good positions. we'll miss him. i have zero confidence in 8 or 9 of the players in our best XI. and i lost most of my confidence in the manager after the epic meltdown he engineered in the last few months of the season. so yeah, unless we make big changes and do it soon, i think this season is a write-off

I don't know why people are clinging to the 1 point difference between us and 4th place. We were absolutely dire towards the end of the season , in fact the others around us were so terrible that in any other year we would have finished 3rd easily.

Yeah, with Claud on this.

I get that people are unhappy about various things with the club, I think we're all in that camp. But the reality is, that we don't need to improve that much more to get into top four.

So excuse me if I'm not panicking.

Yep. There's literally 0 positives to take away from the end of the season, apart from the fact that it was almost impossible for us to bottle top 4 and we did.

I’m glad Koscielny is moving on. He’s one of my very favorite players on this squad. Highly capable and committed over his time. But his body is worn out now. We need a defense that will be smart, strong, fast. He can solve the cerebral side but will struggle with the physical aspects. As will Monreal. I hope he follows him out as well. Will leave gaping holes but we have to reconstruct the back to deal with the present danger of faster forwards and more variable attacks.

Chambers, Bielik, Holding have a real chance here
