At least 5 of those 7 need to walk. Anything else is just more of the same.

Again IMO Kola needs to also be on the list as he is one of our top wage earners but is not a nailed on starter under normal circumstances.

It'll still be a failure. You can't measure success based on circumstances you've created yourself. We've had half a year and we haven't hired anyone yet. Edu promised 'to talk' if we called after Copa America, so safe to say we haven't made him an offer either.

We're the same as always: Run by incompetent people both on and off the pitch. And now we can't even get rid of the latter anymore because we handed the keys to the club to them right away.

I'm pretty sure that fancy diagram of arsenals org structure will be the best thing vinai and raul come up with during their resume expanding stint with arsenal

Edu, or whomever the new technical director is, will not be Sven Mislintat's successor. The German was the head of recruitment. The scope of his responsibilities were far more limited than the technical director's will be. Hence why he left when he was overlooked for the position.

What are some of the responsibilities which were additional in this technical director compared to head of recruitment?

According to Raul Sanllehi: The technical director is responsible for overseeing the workings of the first team coach, the academy manager, and the player recruitment department. They all report to him and he has to guide those departments to work towards a cohesive strategy.

So not much different from what Sven’s head of recruitment role entailed, seems more like just a different job title but similar role. Possibly Raul got rid of him because he didn’t like the way he worked or the type of players he goes after.

The technical director has to manage different departments and is responsible for the direction and strategy of the first team, academy and transfer department, working above the first team coach.

The head of recruitment has no managing responsibilities other than his scouts and has no say over diection or strategy and is told by the first team coach which types of players he wants to sign.

Mislintat wanted the job of shaping and managing the overall strategy, the job Michael Zorc does at Dortmund and Mislintat himself now does at Stuttgart. There's nothing to suggest he would have been very food at that job and lots from his past that suggests he wouldn't.

You got the reason for his leaving right but this isn't true. Mislintat was involved in the hiring of Emery, he was definitely more than just a head scout.

Well, sure, because he has to be able to work in close quarters with the coach, but it's clear he didn't have the influence he wanted to have over the transfer strategy and football philosophy, for want of a better word, over the medium/long-term in the way Sanllehi has stated the technical director will.

Technical director's role is talked about from about 3 minutes in.
