Flobs, don't you think this is the time to cash in on a flawed player in Lacazette, who's probably only going to decline with time? Atletico rumoured to be in for him with a large bid. Anything above 65-70M and I would sell. Let's use that cash and go big on Dembele / Pepe / Asensio (if he continues to rot on the bench at Real).
To be honest I’ve developed a soft spot for Lacazette based on his showing this season. He is a great character, and well capable of turning games by himself when needed. I’m also big on players with work rate, and who possess the often underrated quality of availability (Laca is strong and isn’t injury prone) so I’d love to keep him. Having said all that, we need cash flow from somewhere and I’d probably sell if the price is right, i.e. Coutinho level stupid money, to bring in two truly skillful players who could buttress our attack/midfield and make the team as a whole more cohesive.
Only issue is we will be losing depth and quality in the CF position, which, unless the Eddie Nketiah’s of the squad can make up for, could prove to be a costly mistake. It also leaves us in a situation where we are desperate to replace Auba in the next year or two as his pace declines. So I guess the question is how long we think Auba can remain productive at this level, and how much of the load we feel he can carry by himself if things don’t work out as envisaged.
