Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert

Oh I definitely don't want him to block Eddie (he's my favourite yute!), but I'm saying he could and should take Welbeck's place in the squad.

Anyway it's obviously moot - he's not fancied at Arsenal full stop.

Even quality wise I'd argue there wasn't much between them, 24 goals for a league winning side or 17 in a stronger league for a team that finished 15th.

They should both go even if they're not replaced. Give Nelson and Nketiah the mins.

Welbeck himself, is on shaky grounds at Arsenal too. He could be sold.

I hope so. Iwobi should also be on thin ice... needs to prove himself in some position this season.

In my opinion, Perez has a quick burst, but nothing after those first 5 yards. Walcott and Welbeck, even in their reduced state, would eat him alive over 20 or 30 yards. Vardy is genuinely rapid and so I don't see that comparison.

Agreed that he's quick off the block, but his top speed is marginal at best. In fact, I doubt he has much on Lacazette.

Podolski is the best comparison, though they have different skillsets. Perez can create better than Podolski, but is still dependent upon a functioning team behind him, doubt he's created a chance on his own in ages.

Yeah Lucas is not quick over long distance. They did sprint training the other day and he was pretty much Lacazette level of pace.

The thing Lucas has over the rest is finishing and crossing ability. In other words he is a very good final 3rd player. Him and Mkhitaryan especially, extremely accurate finishing (in training only though)

I'm talking about the 2018 version just in case it wasn't clear. Welbeck has lost four of five yards since 2016 and the less said about Walcott the better.

He's created the most chances in La Liga after only Messi last season, while playing for Deportivo who were relegated too. Podolski is not a good comparison at all.

I didn't compare their pace but their playing styles.

How many minutes have you guys seen of Lucas bar the 800-odd minutes that he got playing for us? You don't have to be a fan of the player but some of the descriptions of his game here can hardly pass as observations of him actually playing football.

Aren't those 800 minutes likely to be more representative of his role for us than his performances where he was a central figure in another team. It's not necessarily a slight on him as a footballer.

Arsene Wenger's treatment of him was bizarre but ultimately for whatever reasons 2 managers don't think he is good enough to contribute at this club.

I'd only sell him if we're not going to play both of PEA and Lacazette as starters.
I'd want him to form the core of our B/Cup team attack to also carry the bulk of playing time in the Europa Group Stages.
If needs be we can sell or replace in Jan.

More importantly we need to sort out Rambo and Welbeck one way or the other.

I want a new winger but Perez and Welbeck should only be league cup/europa players, maybe some minutes off the bench. Those are the minutes I want for Eddie and Nelson. Both should be starting league cup games at the very least.

Getting a new winger is a separate issue.

Yeah, Perez and Welbeck don't really give you enough to justify restricting the mins of two very promising kids. I'd rather gamble on 1 or 2 of those guys making a real breakthrough. If we had Martial or Dembele on the wing, that's another matter.
