Potentially another league title. It weakens Arsenal and Man Utd (if they sell De Gea) and if Cech's any good, he'd also be very important in case Courtois gets injured.
That extra one year is also critical for Cech's career considering his age now. Arsenal and Man Utd might be put off by the time his contract's up.
But let's see....maybe Chelsea aren't as evil as I think.

They aren't. Mourinho is, but not Chelsea imo. Just because they have a rich owner doesn't mean they forget about respecting their loyal players.

Yeah, I think Abramovich is more relaxed about it, especially when it comes to a player like Cech who has a personal relation to many on the board and is a proper club legend.

Ultimately, if we win the league next season it won't be because they sold us Cech. It will be because Mourinho failed to do his job, given the funds they have at their disposal and the squad that already is in place.

it's because they have a rich owner why he will be able to go. it's not the club's board, manager or whoever else. this is all based on what roman wants and he's not going to stand in cech's way. the rest of them can be as scummy as they want, but they don't matter at the end of the day.

Silvestre came up here earlier. Came across, yesterday, an interview he must have given recently. Turns out he has at Man City, having his medical, when he heard of Arsenal's interest. He had to explain to Hughes, while at their shitty stadium, that he wanted to join us instead. 🙁

Don't think United will sign another keeper, they signed Valdes in anticipation of De Gea moving in my opinion.

I'm really struggling to buy the notion that Abramovich is so fond of Cech that he'd go over Mourinhos head to allow Cech join us. Maybe United but not us.

Valdes is finished, GM. If United had played with Valdes instead of De Gaea this season, there is NO WAY that they would have made Top 4. The gap is too large
