You are in a tight game, Cech is doing his bit, scores are nil nil, you manage to create one good chance, who do you trust in the team to put it away? Giroud, Ozil, Ramsey, Carzola, Wellbeck, Wilshere, Walcott, Rosicky, Ox, Sanchez/ Yes they are capable of scoring goals but considering that 5 of them will be on the pitch at any point in time, the likely hood that the chance will fall to Sanchez (who is the most prolific) is 1 in 5. The likelihood that it will fall to a less clinical finisher and spurned is 4 in 5. That’s our problem!
We have a system that requires our attackers (strikers, wingers and midfeilders) to share the goals but they aren’t critical in front of goal. It works in games when we are creating chances but when chances are few, our lack of clinicality hurts us…that’s what we need to improve, a more clinical striker or an upgrade to more clinical attacking support cast.
Cech will give you your 1 point but to win the league you want to take 3 points and that's down to the attackers.
