It's not Peyton thats leaving, its Roberts who is close to joining Swansea according to arseblog.

Maybe they'll both leave. Roberts is just the academy goalkeeping coach, so it's unlikely his whereabouts have any bearing on Arsenal's first team. Fabianski probably recommended him to Swansea who then offered him work.

Peyton currently has the same job at Arsenal as Lollichon has at Chelsea. Maybe this is just a baseless transfer rumour, but I can't see why we'd keep Peyton if we do hire Lollichon.

He's young than when we signed Jens Lehmann (who was also 33) or when ManU signed van der Sar. He certainly has another 3-4 top years ahead of him before the inevitable decline.

There are doubts in my mind about this. I know guys like Jens and VDS were older too but they were more agile. Cech could be old n busted very soon if he isn't now

With VDS it was his positioning and size which made him carry on playing well into his late thirties. Cech has similar qualities.

Tony Roberts has officially joined Swansea, paving the way for Lollichon and Cech to come to Arsenal one would imagine.

For the PSG match, Thibault is shown every clip where he is on the screen (as shown on television) during the first leg. We have a wide angle camera with almost both goals in it. I always look at the position of the keeper. Out of the question to see the keeper standing still ! Do you know how many kilometres a Chelsea keeper does?”

O! : 3, 4, 2 ?
“Between five and six, lots by walking. But sometimes you need to know when to accelerate at the right moment. That’s what we work on. A keeper must also be able to create a passing angle when a player is struggling to bring the ball out. He can open up the game. It’s about being able to anticipate. Of course, you need to be able to use your feet. But 80-85% of a keeper’s match is played with the feet. You have to be ready.”

Really hope the guy follows Cech here. Might be nothing more than speculation but I'd bet money he's a better coach than Peyton.

The part where he compared Cech and Courtois....I really hope people read that part. Courtois is a phenomenal young goalkeeper, but he is not a patch on Cech in so many ways. It takes years of honing your craft to become a master and Cech has been working at this for 15 years. He's still fit and agile, sure, not like he was when he was Courtois' age but back then his command of his box wasn't as good, his positioning wasn't as good, his footwork wasnt as good, his decision making wasn't as good - he's about as good as it gets in football right now in those aspects. No one in this League can touch him that's for sure. So many medals, so much experience...

A fantastic signing, if we pull it off! 🙂

Tbh all the endorsement I need from this move comes from Chelsea fans - in real life and online. Most of them are happy enough with Courtois who has been fantastic for them.

But equally most recognise that Cech is still good enough to be their number one, it's just that Courtois was getting restless after being constantly sent away on loan and they'd rather invest in him being their number one for the next 10 years than Cech. Which is fair enough, really.

But very few of them seem to think Cech's been busted, he was their MOTM in the CL final of 2012 and anyone who watched that game knew that Chelsea were absolutely hammered by Bayern. Usually when it's a big game, he's always been outstanding.

On the downside, he has been relatively inconsistent in his last full season for Chelsea by his own standards. A combination of injuries affected his form but also he tended to lose concentration in the more run of the mill games. I don't necessarily see that as him being busted but hopefully that's more a mental thing.
