Ancelotti, Hodgson, Houllier or Grant?
My metaphorical money is on Hogson. Though I might make it less metaphorical.

Grant's been on a 'decent' run of form, and I can't see Ancelotti getting the boot either.
Houllier's a crap manager, but quite a nice bloke I think, so I'd be quite surprised if he wasn't given the boot soon-ish. Hodgson, despite what the deluded scouser's seem to think, has been handed a squad full of utter shite by Benitez.
Yeah, Hodgson got sold short by Rafa. It's hard to feel sorry for him though because he knew what it meant when he took the job. In a way he's also repeated many of the mistakes that Benitez made, but he did it at a much more crucial stage since Liverpool were already weak from the outset. He spent over £16 million on Meireles and Poulsen, for example. None of them are even good enough to be squad players in a side fighting on the upper half of the table. I don't think there's any money at Liverpool though and they seem eager to rebuild for the future, so unless they slip even further down the table I can see him stay. It would be a bit typical for Liverpool to go to Old Trafford and beat United this weekend after everything that has happened.
My money is on Ancelotti, I think. He'll probably survive the first knockout round of Champions League but if they get knocked out there I just can't see him keep his job. Personally I hope he gets the boot as soon as possible. Not being in charge of that cunt brigade would make him much easier to like and respect again.
Turns out it was indeed Hodgson: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/hodgson-leaves-liverpool-fc
Bah!
The game is not over.
I think Houllier will have to walk the plank next.
Kenny will revive Liverpool. They love him and I think the players and the fans will get behind him.
Cant believe some people wanted to sack Wenger and replace him with Hodgson. The bloke is a third rate manager and he'll end up back where he belongs at some small time mid table club.

Who said that? wouldnt want that in a million years. Roy is suited to a mid-sized team like Fulham, should have stayed there
Liverpool were a poisoned chalice - not much money, a squad full of utter crap, and a public that are desperate to see their team built around Stevie G.
There wasn't a manager in the world who could turn that shower of shit around.
Agreed about the poisoned chalice, but you cant tell me that Hodgson handled it well. Everything about the job he did-from touch line demeanour and press briefings through to player signings-suggested that it was all just a bit big for him.
I don't think he did, particularly, but the whole analysis of his touchline demeanour was a typical case of media over-analysis if you ask me.
Agree with everything Asa has said.
In terms of Hodgson being overawed, don't forget he's managed Inter twice. Hodgson is not third rate; maybe he's managed some lesser sides but you can't argue with some of the amazing things he's achieved with them.
'Pool were definitely a poisoned chalice. The fans were against him from the start, as the last remnant of the Hicks/Gillete range reign and to be honest his squad is crud which coupled with the ridiculous expectations of so many Scousers...well the guy never had a chance. No surprise that the new Yank has tried to ingratiate himself with the fans by appointing a fan favourite. Seriously though, the tripe being served up by the 'Pool fans is reminiscent of the Geordies when Keegan was reappointed.
King Kenny...yeah, enjoy a few more season of mediocrity. They need to get real and accept it's going to take at least a few seasons to turn things around.
I think the Kevin Keegan appointment is important for Kop sentiments. Satisfy them by putting the legend out there, in much the way the Geordies were satisfied by the appointment of Shearer and Keagan. Hopefully, for Pool and those Sox boys, it doesn't end the way it did under Shearer, with relegation. They just need to get it out of their system.
For Pool, in particulary, I think it's an attempt to have something to feel good about. An element from the glory days. A winner. Someone from a time when United were their bitches. I pray it works out for them because that team is so thin and so inconsistent right now that relegation is not out of the question
Reading this thread I wish I'd made a little list of all the misguided press statements Hodgson made from day one of his appointment. It seemed like it was about one incredibly regrettable, morale-sapping gaffe per week, whether it was about his signings, the squad he was left, his "mark" on the team, the size of the task in front of them, or his own emotional state.
He came across as a clueless loose cannon in my view.
Liverpool won't get relegated. When we say they're shite we mean they're midtable level.
Midtable teams can get relegated when they get into a bad funk, tough. I don't think it will happen either but I've seen it before.

What makes you think that? Just curious. To me it feels like Newcastle appointing Kevin Keegan to appease the fans. Apart from maybe Gerrard and Carragher I don't think any of the players at Liverpool respect Dalglish more than they respect any other manager.
To me, Dalglish will be even more susceptible to the classic Liverpool Manager Fuckup of trying to build the team around Steven Gerrard.
They won't recover as a club until they get shot of that guy - he's been the most overrated player in this league for at least the last 5 years.
I couldn't agree more.
I think appointing Dalglish will have a nothing effect on the team. Their problem is that they're short on quality, not tactical awareness. Hodgson's signings didn't help much but the biggest blame is down to Benitez's terrible mismanagement of the club.
