Look, either the players carried out his instructions to attack in a caviller manner in which case he is responsible for the 1st leg deficit, or some players disobeyed his instructions and attacked regardless in which case he has clearly lost control of the team and confidence of the senior players which is almost inconceivable- So which is it?

Monaco team news: Toulalan, Carvalho, Kurzawa, Yannick-Carrasco all back after missing the first leg. Basically they have their entire full squad back other than their CB Raggi.

He won't as he can't anyway. All Coquelin, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Sanchez and Giroud are sure starters either way you're looking at it. The only question is who will start at left back.

Just a shame we will have only 2 attacking players on the bench in W + W. One of Chamberlain or Rosicky is missing there.

Lot of talk about how no team has ever come back from being 2 down when playing away in the 2nd leg. What that little fact ignores is that generally the overwhelming favourites don't lose 3-1 at home in the first place.

Time to pray to the old gods and the new that it doesn't rain in Monaco today.
I'd start Gabriel tonight as we need his pace against their counters, he is better on the ball than Per and having pacy defenders allows us to play with high defensive line and congest the pitch. I hope Wenger doesn't bottle it and go with Welbeck on the wings to try and press them into making mistakes. It worked against Man Utd as they are shit technically but insist to play the ball out of defense, whereas Monaco will just hoof it towards their most offensive midfielder and hope for the best.

Gabriel in for Mertesacker if the former's fit enough, Chambers in for ze German if he's not. We need that extra pace and mobility and we also really need the braver more progressive passing that Chambers has shown he can bring and Gabriel I suspect can bring. Although, the fact that Mertesacker was sat next to Wenger at the pre-match press conference has me a little worried that he's gonna start.

Ah, whatever, we're gonna win either way anyway! 🙂
