Bayern, Barcelona - fair enough, I was proud of the effort even if the result didn't happen. At Monaco, go fuck yourselves. Everyone knew pissing away that 3rd away goal was important. Wenger needs to understand how to approach the first leg of these knock out games. He can't control his players when they lack perspective.

At least the away fans got a good performance. Giroud's in top goalscoring form, Ramsey's finding the net, Alexis, Ozil and a fully fit defence. Will be much more encouraged by a win at Newcastle, and not just because it could count for something.

I don't understand either. Only thing that makes sense would be doctor's orders. Ramsey was stunning on Saturday. We needed a real midfielder in midfield. I'm tired of seeing Cazorla in the centre.

Hard to be too critical of the players though. Everyone was good, except maybe Walcott in his short cameo. We just didn't test the goalie enough.

Ozil was average. Nothing special. Yet to make a difference in the biggest ties.

i assume ramsey didnt start because hes just come back from injury and because the pitch was suspect. i get it. and cazorla has the best close control in the arsenal team, and we knew we'd be playing against a packed defense, where his magic feet might allow him to unlock them. as they tired, obviously ramsey would have more space with fresh legs, and sure enough he found space (from a terrible clearance, to be fair) and scored.

Disappointing that we're out, but we weren't winning the cl this year anyway. Would been crushed by the top teams.

I thought we played very well though we didn't create many clear cut chances against that massed defence.
We don't really have the players to capitalise on half chances, or create goals from nothing, so that's as good as we can be away from home in these conditions.
Conceding three at the Emirates was unforgivable and impossible to overcome.

Cancel and move on though, it's all about the league and FA Cup now.

We were miles from going through from the first and if we had played Bayern or Barca then we would be 7-0 down to start with.

It was the right decision not to start him. Cazorla and Coquelin was good in the first half.

Furthermore, Ramsey would have had more of an impact as a sub as he shown for the goal.

Taking off Monreal and Welbeck is mindboggling though. Welb provided plenty of threat and presence in the box.

The result is regulation Arsenal under Wenger in Europe. Every first leg we either go out gung-ho or don’t turn up at all and get done. Then when we’ve got nothing to lose, have a real go and do just enough to not be completely embarrassed. We never give ourselves a chance, ever, and it comes down to the manager not knowing how to handle these two-leg ties.

Don’t know what was so wrong with what we did in 05-06 to get to the final that we’ve never employed it again.

That's unfair. OXs goal was all Ox. When he lost the ball others should have defended.

We knew before this match that losing 2-0 at home can't possibly be worse than losing 3-1.
