I don't know why but I just can't see City getting anyone special this summer. I don't think they have the appeal. Sterling probably, and the likes of De Bruyne, but no chance of Pogba or anyone of his class or potential. They just don't worry me much at all, right now anyway.

Of course they have the appeal, they have loads of money are a CL club and have been winning league titles over the last few years. And even without whatever additions they're about to make they still comfortably finished ahead of us this year. We have to be worried them, Chelsea and even United.

I don't think they can get Pogba ahead of Barcelona or Real Madrid, for example. And that goes for any player on that level. I think Vidal, for example, would probably go to a bigger club than them if he came on the market, too, even if they threw money at him.

City are still hugely appealing simply because of what they can offer to players. I agree with Ricky re. Pogba, but that entirely depends on those two clubs being in for these players in the first place. If there was no interest from Barca, Real etc. then it really wouldn't surprise me to see players of Pogba's ilk head to City.

Their fans must be worried about this summer though, it looks like Sterling is the only one of their big targets who they can feasibly sign and he's not going to be the difference between them winning the league and coming second. Their whole squad needs reinforcing with top quality, keeping Yaya will be a bonus provided he steps it up next season but they released arguably their second most effective midfielder in Milner and inconsistent players like Nasri and Navas are still in the first team. They're going to be relying on Aguero again for their title challenge at this rate.

Tbf, he's talking absolute shit but I love the fact that it'll no doubt piss of the little self entitled twat United fans that read it. Although, I do agree to an extent with him, of course maybe it's wishful thinking, that United are on their way down and are really, really going to struggle to get back up to the top again. They're a long, long way off and van Gaal is not a good man for them to have at the helm during this crucial period.

The likes of Schneiderlin, Ramos and Kane aren't going to take them back to the top. Who else are they "hotly rumoured" to be in for?

I think so too. Who wants to leave Madrid to go and play with Chris Smalling in Manchester? It would be a tough sell even if United were the top team and Real were struggling.

Yep, i hope that they will suffer thanks to not being an attractive destination. Their huge commercial empire will save them from totally going the way of Liverpool though.

It's a multitude of reasons. Bottom line is, in my humble opinion, they ain't getting the likes of Cech, Ramos, Pogba, Veratti, Benzema etc. Which is the calibre of player they need to get back to the top. They have no real winners and winning experience in their team and none whatsoever at the back - which counts for so, so much. You simply won't win trophies without it. Plus, van Gaal is not a great manager and they're relying on him to try and steer them back to the top....not a good situation for them (but fanfuckingtastic for me!).

But he's not been too bad for them yet. He did get them back into the CL within a year of joining them, although I suppose that has a lot to do with Liverpool being shite.

There's hardly been any business done by any of the top 4 yet so i'd wait before arriving to conclusions about United.
