He's been injured for almost the same amount of time as Wilshere after his breakout season, even worse at one point it seemed like a real possibility that he'd never be able to play again. Don't think it's too much to expect him signing a deal that at least would improve Dortmund's negotiation base when he inevitably fucks off, Reus is a far bigger prospect and he did it too.

The guy had a career threatening injury and spent something like a year out, during that time he refused to extend his contract and Dortmund continued paying his wages and for all of his treatment. During that time he spoke to other clubs (incl Barca) who weren't interested in taking on a player with such a serious injury. Once he realised nobody was interested he extending his contract to 2016. The only reason for such a short extension is so he could leave on a low fee and make more money when he joins a new club. He managed to get a season under his belt but his form has been inconsistent and his wage demands (rumoured to want 10m Euros a year) have put off most clubs. Why would anyone pay top buck for a player who might not even reach his best again? Now he has signed another short extension because he couldn't find himself a club.

It shouldn't always be about doing thing for himself, Dortmund are the ones who have given him a platform to play at this level and looked out for him when his career was almost over. He should least show them some respect rather than just chasing a big pay day.

If his career was almost over at such a young age then maybe he's justified in thinking "fuck, need to get on with this career and earn me some wedge before its too late". Plus i read that his back injury is degenerative and will never be 100% again.

I haven't watched Bacca much but Adriano is underwhelming (and old), and Bertolacci is the kind of player you'll find in most teams in the upper half of the table. It's a bit like Arsenal signing James McCarthy from Everton. You wouldn't mind having him because he's a good footballer, but he's not going to tip any scales in your favour.

Much better than what Milan currently have though. They have fallen so badly, they can't exactly attract star signings yet. Promising players, good decent players that will bring them back to top 4 is the first step.
