Verratti is totally one of the best CMs in the world. If I were going to spunk 40m+ on a midfielder, I'd start with him or Pogba. Simples. Not that either would be particularly attainable.

You'll struggle to find a player better in his position. His performances against Barca and Chelsea were world class this season.

High profile performances yes, best midfielder definitely not. He has had plenty of poor performances in Ligue 1 this season and last season but obviously people are just going to watch those 2 performances and base their observations on that.

There's no doubt the guy is top class. But lets not go overboard with such claims.

One other guy I'd get my hands on from PSG is Blaise Matuidi. Goodness. Love him. The PSG coaching team knew how to build a spine.
