Can see why Spurs would do this. Obviously if a compensation package isn't agreed with Burnley then the fee will be decided by a tribunal. Consider that Sturridge went for 4.5m plus a sell-on 6 years ago with half of Ing's experience. You're looking at a bigger fee that he's more proven plus taking into account inflation alone and a selling club like Spurs would pay a bit more rather than take a big-sell on attached also.

Yup. Remember watching him for Boca Juniors U14s where he mis controlled a basic pass out for a throw in. Knew right then that he wouldn't make it in England. Considering his small frame I think he'll find it tough. Plus he hasn't got much end product - in each his last four seasons he hasn't even hit 5 league goals. A homeless man's fran merida. And I'm basing this on a lot more than a wiki search.

They always do that in public don't they and instead tap the player up behind the scenes. Once they know they can get h they then start unsettling in the papers and through the media. At least that's the impression I've always had of them.
