Arsenal lead the league in headed goals over the last 2 seasons. Surprising, but I think I read that somewhere.

I think Capi's point was that strikers score most of a team's goals, anyway, so that 31% stat wouldn't be surprising at all.

On a more serious note, we are leading for the amount of set piece goals scored. 15 in 26. 3rd highest in Europe behind Atletico and Midtjylland

Sad that we all have to remove this guy from our thoughts, just so that we don't have to remind ourselves that he plays for us.

What's even more sad is that there is literally no-one established that we could buy that is better than him. FML.

IMO it was more a case of him fitting the style of play with the high line and players in close support, and the opposition enabling it to work as they weren't good enough to do otherwise.
IMO the NLD was a true indication of Giroud, our style and capability when confronted with anything more than cannon fodder.
Even Leicester and Palace gave us problems.

giroud always falters when the midfield doesn't function properly, but he was also wasteful on top his usual limitations

He was wasteful but we were functioning until he wet off. Her probably have put one of them eventually. More likely than Theo, Sanchez or Welbck suddenly finding space that wasn't there at 1-0 down, never mind 2. Maybe he would have kep missing but we failed to create more than one proper opening after he went off.

Giroud = possession system and possession system = Giroud.
Both are ineffective when the other is off.

I think what followed once Giroud left was some of the worst football I've seen Arsenal play under Wenger. Hopeless 30 yard passes in an attempt to get Welbeck in down the channels. He barely had a touch.

Giroud was pony infront of goal, but like you say, we were playing to our strengths, all be it very poorly.

You can't blame Wenger for subbing him if you guys notice Giroud's reaction to that tap-in miss. He was gone.

He was poor against Palace too despite the goal. Think he needs a break if nothing else.

He just came back from injury, dont think he needs a breather.

yesterday showed how one footed he is, if those chances were on his left I'm sure he'd have scored at least one.
