Calling Giroud Eeyore is just another word for describing him as the donkey he is. I certainly don't hate him, but I just don't think he is very good. I do want to punch him in the face when he does his ridiculous faces, or when he does something monumentally stupid on the pitch, but I don't think that qualifies as 'irrational hate'.
My main problem with Giroud as our number 1 striker, apart from not being what I think is 'good enough' is this: Wenger has geared the team to play to HIS strengths. As a team, we have become utterly reliant on that big, strong target man who links play. It was stupid going into last season when we bought Özil, and I think it is exponentially more stupid after we also bought Alexis last summer. I DON'T LIKE THE SORT OF FOOTBALL GIROUD REPRESENTS. If that football was successful I'd instantly pipe down of course, but it isn't. Now, I have given up on Wenger packing it in any time soon but, maybe, maybe Wenger can find it in his heart to at least get us a striker who gives us a fighting chance of winning one of the big trophies. Ultimately, to me, it is quite clear that as a club we are NOT going to win either the league or the CL with Giroud as our main man in attack. It. Just. Won't. Happen.
And before Biggus chips in with the predictable 'no, we won't win because Wenger blah blah blah' - my point is that I don't think there is ANY manager who could win either of those titles with Giroud as the go to guy.
