😆 I honestly am not sure whether you are just trolling or if you have a reading disability of some sort. Part of the time you actually manage the odd coherent, non-ranting on Wenger post, so for now I'll just assume you are trolling.

Firstly, Welbeck isn't some chump. He has played roughly 100 games for the the dominant club in England, and was deemed good enough by the most decorated manager in the history of British football. He is a starting forward for England, their leading goal scorer in the Euro qualifiers, and a big reason why England is top of their group. Secondly, Welbeck certainly isn't lazy. He has lots of faults in his game, but calling him lazy makes me question whether you have actually seen him play. Thirdly, I CLEARLY said I was NOT in favor of seeing him AND Giroud on the pitch at the same time; in my opinion it should primarily be one or the other. Lastly, resting a player, Giroud in this case, every third game is smart management to me. Managers generally do that to keep players fresh.

Name a side that won the PL with a striker of Giroud's caliber. Goalscorers win leagues, many of Ferguson's last PL titles are a testament to that fact.

Some observations:

Dzeko's stats are great when you consider the starts and that the formation is built around Aguero not him

Lambert's stats are also great. He's added 18 appearances this season with minimal minutes but he was very effective for Southamtpon. Probably too old now mind.

Benteke has struggled playing in an utterly awful Villa team who've been more or less relegation candidates in all 3 seasons

Will add a new table for goals in big games.

I made a 2 year minimum restriction of regular football for being included and the players had to be forwards.

Players who were prolific but didn't make the list due to these restrictions are-

Eden Hazard (Not a forward but played 3 seasons of regular football and scored 32 league goals)

Yaya also played 3 seasons of regular football scoring 33 league goals in these years

Demba Ba (Played the last 2 seasons in England but was only regular for 6 months at Newcastle in that period and barely featured in 18 months for Chelsea. Scored 20 league goals 13 coming in those 6 months at Newcastle. Already on 23 for Besiktas so he's really wasted those years at Chelsea)

Others include Remy (Only regular for 1 and a half seasons and he missed a fair bit of last season too. Has 23 league goals)

Basically Giroud is just a level below the top tier strikers - Suarez, Aguero, Van Persie, but I think most already recognize that.

Sturridge has been incredibly prolific though.

I think Giroud has done very well and has showed great improvement since joining 3 seasons back.

Basically in the last 2 and a half years he's been outscored by both United strikers, Both Liverpool strikers, Just a couple ahead of Dzeko and Yaya.

And this our leading goalscorer in the last 2 and a half years. This is why you need a better forward than Welbeck. Alexis is a great addition but even a Benteke, Bony or Lukaku would have been a much better addition than Welbeck.

Both United and Liverpool strikers were part of the League before Giroud was. One shouldn't take away the period of adjustment from Giroud. For a lone man upfront this League can be a shock, especially coming from France. Rooney, Sturridge and Van Persie grew up in this League.

Giroud as a footballer has been a late bloomer anyways. He has done extremely well for me.

Now we have Ozil and Sanchez- a 70 million duo of amazing ability and ahead of them a player that makes their qualities almost not even matter.

His obsession with target men is really the oddest thing about this version of Arsene.

@ Rex: that a player makes numerous appearances under ferguson doesn't mean the player is great.

Wes Brown, Phil Neville, Silvestre, o'Shea, Rafael, Alan Smith, etc.

Fergie's M.O. at United involved the use of a few average players (mostly homegrown) to supplement his main squad and team, but these players are far from the fulcrum or important pieces in his set up. They are players who can "do a job" or are put on for tactical reasons.

Welbeck is that sort of player. Bang average.

They were usually players who came through the ranks too. Lads who loved the club and gave their all for it. Fergie knew the value of having people in the club who understood what it meant to the locals.
