Never thought I'd accept a comparison to Bergkamp without thinking "blasphemy", but I do. Ozil's now not just one of the greatest Arsenal players (I mean in history), but what he can do (particularly with those passes) is some of the best I have ever seen in football.
Even when he doesn't deliver the assist, he makes the situation - all 3 goals yesterday, in fact. Makes you wonder about down playing the notions of "pre-assist", and the "fabricated idea" that switching the weight/shifting play is not all that (something we've been discussing re Cazorla for the most part). He doesn't just see the opening that no one else sees, and pin point deliver the ball no matter how hard that could be (ball to Joel, eg.), he sees the whole situation and what it might develop into, weighs/compares and has the answer that very moment.
Having him (and a rather similar feeling with Cech) is a bit like playing when you know the play was fixed. Haven't had that feeling since Henry and Denis days.
