Ozil has turned down the contract extension offerd by Arsenal and wants to leave in the summer-Marca.

They also said Alexis said he needes asurance in orther to stay.

Now Bild are saying the sme thing. Ozil not happy with us not making progres in the League/Cl.

Not debating on the veracity of Marca's article, but I do think Ozil will want to move, or at least reject contract extension unless we win the league this year. And with good reason. Maybe it'll even inspire Wenger to do something, if both our marquee players raise the same issue.

Who am I kidding, we'll probably sell them to City and United for 25M...

Ozil's never stayed at a club for more than 3 seasons, so it's not entirely surprising.

Wenger said we'd open talks with both Ozil and Sanchez at the end of the season, so it being rejected already would be a surprise.

Also, this was Ozil a couple of months ago:

"There is no rush to sign a new contract," Ozil said.

"My current deal runs until 2018. That is still two-and-a-half years. There are no talks at the moment.

"I can only say that I am very happy in London. My decision to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal was the right one.

"There has not been a single day, apart from whenever I was injured, that I did not feel great here."

But if, hypothetically, he didn't want to sign a new deal, I'd rather run down his contract down and let him leave on a free when he's a couple of months away from 30.

A week or so before playing Barca and rumours are coming out of him wanting to leave from Spain, what a surprise. He has 2.5 years left on his contract, so there is no immediate rush. I'd expect it to get sorted by the summer.

The guy is one of the top players in the league and is finally getting the respect and recognition that he deserves, would he really trade that for a bench role at Barca? Come on

Özil seems like a very sensitive guy who needs his circumstances to be right for him to play his best football. He had a noticeable dip in form when he had his disagreement with his dad and the breakup with his girlfriend for instance. I find it hard to believe that he would be playing at the level he has shown all season if he was not happy with his situation both on and off the pitch.

I think the story is made up what with the timing of it and the shit source, but it's not that hard to believe he wants to leave unless we show some real ambition.
