Not really. Özil had a fantastic take down, the ball got stuck a little bit too close to his feet for him to take a proper swing at it, and he was getting really close to the goalkeeper. All in all I don't think it is fair at all to say he bottled it.

He was unlucky today but on the whole, his finishing is pretty poor and he shouldn't be relied on for goals, his other excellent qualities notwithstanding. Always have a chuckle when Wenger claims he's about to add goals to his game, he's been saying it since he arrived

It's completely unfair; if that's defined as bottling a chance you'd be hard pressed to find missed chances that aren't bottled attempts. Walcott's and Koscielny's misses were a lot worse.

He didnt 'bottle' it he hasnt even had time to. He takes it down well and then pokes it at goal. To be fair he does that quite a bit and while it was a decent chance (because of his touch) its not one youd expect him to finish because thats not his game.

Ozil was good last night, very hungry display. He played very much like a forward I felt, aggressive positioning and running.

He was unlucky on both chances, first was he had no right to even bring the ball down like that and second one it looked like he was stretching a bit. Still the second chance I thought he could have done better

It feels like his finishing has potential to be improved upon. He has the composure. He never does a Ramsey by sending the ball to row Z - most of his shots are straight at the keeper. By no means am I suggesting he should score regularly, but it would a very welcome asset to a team that is so short of consistent goal scorers.

He's alright - getting into dangerous positions. On another day those two go in. Keeper made incredible saves.

That stat is a misleading too, it suggests that he created more than against Bournemouth which is just bs in any meaningful way.

The point is valid though, we need an injection of quality up front. The last time we won the league we had four world class attacking players in the starting line-up, including the greatest striker of his generation. Now we regularly start guys like Giroud, Walcott and Campbell.

Ozil's cross to Kos should have been finished off, then we'd be raving about how he notched up another assist. Even if Ozil isn't at his best he's making things happen, need others to make use of him. If he had the likes of Henry, Wrighty, Ljungberg, Bergy, Pires etc around him I shudder to think how many assists he'd have.
