I haven't watched Leicester enough to really decide. Vardy dragged them through for a while there but Mahrez is a better player when he's on song. Vardys work rate is important for them too I think, that gets overlooked in highlights shows, etc So yeah without watching 90 minutes of Leicester every week its too close for me to call.

Took Vardy off my FF team ahead of last round. Did that because in his previous two or three games he has looked less sharp, showing signs of fatigue. He's been fighting with niggling injuries too for a couple of weeks.

Within a certain set of football fans, definitely, but not among the pundits and people who decide these things. They love a good narrative at least as much as a good football player which is why guys like Scott Parker have picked up the award in the past. Vardy's story is endearing. Coupled with the records he has broken this season it's going to be hard to beat.

Ozil is a cut above Vardy and Manrez and if he keeps going he should win it.

Vary and Mahrez won't be able to keep up their form for the entire season, whereas Ozil can because his game is less taxing on the body. Plus as a footballer he is way smarter than the aforementioned Leicester City players.

I saw Ozil today against Bournemouth. I have to say he is the best player I have seen live watching football in this country, if Theo was a semi-decent footballer Ozil would have got at least 3 more assists tonight.

Seriously, his play was on another level than any other player on the pitch tonight including our own.

Some of the passes he made against Bournemouth, I'm not sure if even prime Fabregas would have been able to make. Albeit it was weak opposition, yada yada. Too bad that clown Walcott fucked them all up, otherwise Ozil would have probably broken Henry's record only a week or two in January.

Out of Ozil's 16 assists, 13 of them resulted in one touch finishes.

Basically another way of saying Ozil is fucking amazing. That sweeping pass to Theo yesterday something else

wrighty made a point about the rest of the team needing to be on their toes a bit more with this guy in the side. it sometimes feels like the team are shocked to receive some of these deliveries from ozil, and also dont make clever enough runs. i mean you can make outlandish movements and still reasonably expect him to pick you out. one thing bergy had in his day were teammates that knew exactly what he was capable of and were always leveraging his vision to the utmost. guys like freddie made a iiving dining out on bergys vision. id love to see someone strike that telepathic understanding with mesut

To be fair to Theo, shit as his finishing was, he was making those runs time and time again yesterday.

Yeah, I found that encouraging as well. However, Walcott's finishing has been disappointing all season. He has missed way too many chances.

ive always felt theo always takes 4-5 games to get his eye in after coming back from injury. the problem is after 7-8 starts he usually gets injured again and the whole thing restarts

Yeah, I was genuinely worried last 30 minutes yesterday for Özil, Ramsey and Walcott. As soon as we made it 2-0 I wanted Wenger to take all of them off.

Yup. Theo, these days, is always on his toes making those jerky runs which have a destabilising effect on the defence.
I like it when he does that as they cannot concentrate on shutting down service to Giroud by swarming Ozil.
Same effect as Ramsey's vertical runs into the box.
I think when teams come at us like Southampton and we cannot cope with 6 of our players erratically moving about in defence, we should tell our fullbacks to stretch the pitch to try and neutralise their pressing.
Fuck it. I would rather win or lose 7-5 than limply lose 4-nil to a shit team.
