Sir, you sound just as dumb, racist and bigoted as Donald Trump and his followers when you go off on this "Islam is a religion that hates the West" broadside.
Whenever Westerners like yourself make this kind of statement, it just makes it more and more evident to me that you are, in fact, thoroughly isolated, narrow minded and uncivilized in your world view. You sound like someone who reads a lot, but I am quite willing to bet that you haven't traveled the world extensively, and likely have very few non European friends in your circle. I was born and raised in Africa, in Nigeria, a country with its own issues with Islamic fundamentalism - I'm sure you've heard of Boko Haram and of the evil they perpetrate in the nation. However I was also raised in a family and neighborhood of people of all manner of ethnic and religious backgrounds- Christians, Muslims, Grail Messengers, traditional belief systems. A proper mix. I have very close, extremely religious Muslim friends who say their salat prayers 5 times every day, who observe all the rites and rituals - zakat, ramadan, Hajj, and of course many who are not so religious.
But they are all among the most beautiful, intelligent, selfless, charitable people I know, and I deeply admire their simple and faithful and generous lifestyles.
So I will not condone or accept the foolishness of anyone painting them all in the same colors or insulting their faith by putting them in the same category as murderers and crazy fanatics. Just as you yourself said in a thread recently, people should not presume to speak for all black people, or all women when it comes to the American electorate. Why then do you choose to wrap up all of Islam with the same cold blanket of terrorism? When the Ku Klux Klan went about lynching and raping black families, did you feel it was a case of "well that's Christianity for you"?
This kind of talk doesn't diminish Islam in my eyes. It diminishes you.
