I agree with Y va. It's not just Welbeck, it was said about Debuchy as well.
I'd agree (perhaps) looking at things now, we might have been tempted with skipping both signings (personally I still think it would have been rash, but I wouldn't bother arguing about it).
But when we signed them we really had to sign them - Debuchy was a good signing (I still think he is, though been extremely unlucky with injuries), and Welbeck was a gamble, but not a bad one in my book.
Having said all the above - F me, how exciting is Bellerin, and to me the big news of the day is actually Chuba - first time I'm convinced by him. Someone mentioned earlier his runs (or positioning?) are better than both Yaya and Welbeck - well, at least going by today they certainly are. He still looked a bit raw, and lacking confidence. But he looked a real striker - a killer in potential. Sure hope he signs.
