You cannot transfer this clutch nonsense to football. The frequency of scoring opportunities per game just does not make football a game where you can readily judge the players based on how clutch they are.

He also scored important goals during PAOK's title win, in which they went unbeaten. I saw this interview with him the other day. Really pleased for the guy. He had a rough few years with some bad loans, a load of injuries, and an especially bad back injury: He really lost his way. But he's always had talent and personality and I'm glad he's showing it now. Well done, Chuba the Invincible!

Baptista is such a disappointment for me. Massive talent but clearly unsuited to the English game. Most of the time can't run, can't control the ball. And we chased him for almost 2 years.

Wenger persisted for a long time with Aliadiere. He just couldn't get over the constant injuries.

Aliadiere was labelled the new Henry due to his performances in the youth team but he was too lightweight, fragile and underwhelming whenever promoted to the first team. He never got anywhere near the level Baptista got to in his prime at Sevilla where he earned the name beast. By the time we took him on, on loan, he was a shell of the Sevilla beast whose confidence had been destroyed by his Real Madrid failure.

Nicklas Bendtner doesn't even make Rosenborg's match day squads nowadays. According to a local newspaper he behaved so unprofessionally in a practice match within the team (in terms of not trying) that the ones who were on his side walked off and refused to play with him.
