He's so bad, some of his touches are really championship standard. Other than running and finishing he has nothing at all on a football pitch

He's much worse than he was for us though. When he first got there he instantly looked their best player. I don't know what's happened, maybe the realization that he's stuck at a midtable club with nothing to play for for the rest of his career and that he'll never play for England again did something to his motivation.

He's not an untalented player - Giroud is similarly limited but is still able to maintain a decent standard even if the team isn't tailored to him. Walcott just doesn't have the drive, in fact now that his future is in doubt I half expect him to play out of his skin for a couple of months.

Walcott is shit. Always has been. We read him within 3 or 4 years when it was clear he wasn't going to be the next Michael Owen. And it's okay, sometimes it doesn't work out.

He was this bad for us for like a year before we sold him to be honest. He's got a body that isn't really fit to play Premier League football anymore. He had a small surge where he wanted to prove himself at a new club, and then like you said the realisation probably hit him that he's stuck in midtable for the rest of his career and it took away the extra effort.
