I disliked Giroud as much as the next guy but he is easily the best striker we've had since Giroud. Better than Laca, Jesus, Havertz and Gyokeres.

Auba was a left winger for us before someone chimes in.

I don't understand the notion that Giroud improved after leaving here. He never scored more than 8 league goals in a season for Chelsea. At Milan he got back to about scoring as often as he did for us, but what old striker can't manage that in Serie A?
People just didn't have to watch the frustrating aspects anymore.

QuincyAbeyie he was much better here than elsewhere. He just played in teams that had players to rotate with him or better strikers ahead of him. When we signed him it was just before RVP left, if we'd had both we'd have been unbelievable up top.

QuincyAbeyie it wasn’t just about goals per se, it was the criticality of his goals, always used to pop up in big games. For example against us in the 2019 EL final and scored some really crucial goals for Chelsea in their 2021 CL winning run. For Milan he used to always either get the equaliser or the winner sometimes from the bench.

The fact he is France’s all time leading goalscorer is unbelievable.

To be fair, getting sacked by Marinakis isn't really an indicator of anything beyond being a bit foolhardy to accept a job from him in the first place.

That being said, Edu quickly came off as a bit of a snake oil salesman when he was with us. Great talker but difficult to pinpoint what he actually did other than Arteta's bidding.
