One of my favorite Arsenal players ever. The kid fucked up. But he was one of us for a while. He feels to me like our (my) first Starboy. He was one whose talent was so special and unique. Just supremely gifted with his passing and vision and understanding of spaces.
And the truth is he is absolutely right. Same as I call out Arteta for not using his squad better and resting his top players especially Saka as often as he should (do you guys remember how often Saka would literally limp out of games after being assaulted? Arteta doesn't do nearly enough to protect him, in my opinion. But that can be a topic for another day) was how I would berate Wenger for playing this kid into the ground. And then not reinforce properly in the summer.

Yeah Fabregas talked some shit but ultimately, we (Arsenal) failed these boys. They didn't fail us. They did the rational and human thing, and prioritized themselves in the face of glaring lack of ambition. Him staying here wouldn't have made shit better anyway. Wenger was already checked out back in those years. Top four was our trophy. Gosh, I'm getting re-traumatized just thinking about it.
