Man U certainly need a player like Schneiderlin more than we do, so for us to make life more difficult for Man U by signing Schneiderlin is an added bonus.

Their midfield looked like it came together a bit towards the end of the season. Although I suppose that was a lot to do with Carrick who's ageing out similarly to Arteta.

All smacks of 2013-14 with it being DM's instead of forwards. No doubt when Coquelin gets injured/out of form half of those not wanting a DM/supposed "inferior" players will be blasting the decision to not sign one. Imagine if Coquelin gets injured in August. Relying on 33 year Arteta to play games or a desperate buy like Delph or something.

Unless we sign someone better! I was sooo wanting Wenger to sign Griezmann last summer, but then he went and signed Alexis instead.

Arsenal were definitely very keen on Schneiderlein. But looks like price Utd prepared too pay is too rich.

It's not the Scheiderlein transfer fee that's the problem. Arsenal can do £25m easily. It's wages that would make him third highest earner

Tim poking his butt into the transfer as well. I don't think he knows much normally, but what he is saying is in line with what Auclair said the other day. Personal terms is the blockage. What a shame

Yeah you can't be paying Schniederlin 120k whilst leaving guys like Wilshere and Ramsey on less. And he wouldn't even be a guaranteed starter.

Our midfield will always have better players and play better football than Schneiderlin would be capable of.

Schneiderlin isn't making United better. Good player, but I'm not that worried about it. The likes of Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger in this summer will get them nowhere.

I don't understand the 'logic' if the player IS the best preferred option for your requirements.
I don't care if it makes a player the highest earner if we can afford it.
The primary consideration is that they provide what we require on the pitch.

My concern is that AW will likely persist with both his policy for signing only top quality & will not lower his standards to sign a similar player, but will also persist with the same style etc without the required pieces in place yet again.

You don't understand how giving Schneiderlin higher wages than Özil or Alexis will pose a problem?
