i think this is the distinction. if the cream of the crop aren't available, i'd still take schneiderlin over keeping the powder dry. he'd put in good work for us domestically

Now that Khedira's and Vidal seems unlikely with Pogba going, I think Schneiderlin should be wrapped up now.

Nobody reliable is reporting it and I doubt any deal for a key player to leave is negotiated as Juventus have a cl final in some weeks.

Schneiderlin would be a top signing for us. From those quotes, I would think that he would be wary of choosing Chelsea; if he has his head on straight, then he will realize that Matic is the guy he will most likely compete with for a starting spot, and that is a tough act to better. He takes a look at us and sees that Coquelin is his competition though...

I'd keep Arteta even if we sign Schneiderlin or someone of similar or better quality. He is still a quality player, a model pro, and he seems to have earned the respect of his team mates. Qualities we certainly need.

Schneiderlin would be an underwhelming signing right now. He would have made a nice squad patch two years ago. We need to aim higher this time.

Some supposedly reliable Spanish journalists close to Barca are saying talks have taken place with his agent. He's told them what it will take for Juve to sell but also what Pogba wants. Supposedly wants to be the 2nd highest player at Barca, that probably isn't going to happen!

And if he wants to be playing for France beating Coquelin for a spot at club level is the first step. Last thing Schneiderlin needs is Coq getting a full season here as first choice with almost no competition.

Not bothered keeping Arteta though. Old and broken and wasn't even good this season before the injury. I see no place for him in our side now.

Alternatively CFC could sell Oscar & move Fabregas to CAM & Schneiderlin replace him as DLP next to Matic.
