Can't complain with a clean sheet, and with at ;east one decent save, right? but you were hardly left with a sense of "commanding", right?
We'll see. Maybe he'll also get some confidence playing a bit. And getting his own "song" 🙂 (bit ridiculous much about it, I thought).

Glad that Szczesny was dropped. Kinda hoping we go out and buy a decent GK, but Chelsea aint probably giving up Cech mid season so gotta wait until summer and hope Ospina does well meanwhile.

It worked two years ago when he was dropped (along Verm) for Fabianski and Koscielny. Seemed to have given Szczesny a kick in the back. Hopefully same thing happens now.

A keeper needs a bit of a lengthy run to be fairly judged, hoping Ospina get a solid one (without making any major mistakes).

I don't get why Wenger should play Szczesny again vs City. It doesn't work like this with keepers does it? Once you get dropped, you don't play until the one they dropped you for fucks up too. I'm far from being convinced by Ospina but he should continue in goal.

Ospina is still young, it's not like he came here knowing he would only be n.2 unless Szczesny gets injured. Got his sance and has to play now.

Was Szczesny dropped for making a mistake in a game though? Seems more like it was for smoking in the showers.

I agree with Rex anyway, I'd rather see Szczesny back for the City game. IMO he's the better player.

Wenger said it had nothing to do with smoking, implying it was his performance and perhaps his attitude in training, etc. He could also just been saying that.

But I don't think we'll see him. Ospina did nothing wrong and if he drops him now after one game, it's because he thinks he's way below Szczesny. I haven't seen enough of Ospina to make that call.

Yeah, fair enough. If it was just for the smoking scene it would probably make sense to show him the bench for one game for him to realize what it takes to behave like an idiot, if it was for his performances it would be very unfair for Ospina not to continue in goal after keeping a clean sheep. Only the two of them know I suppose.

Despite what Wenger said it looks fairly obvious Sneezey was dropped because of the smoking incident. I most certainly want Sneezey back for City. From the little we have seen from Ospina he looks timid in the box and hesitant when it comes to claiming crosses. That is NOT something we need against Man City at the Etihad.

Anyway, not made my mind up on Ospina yet but I'm not sure you can list coming out for crosses as a good reason to pick Szczesny. His decision making on when and when not to come out is probably the weakest aspect of his game.

In the post game presser the way Wenger said it, seems like Szczesny didn't take the decision to be dropped very well. Also doesn't make much sense to have a GK in for just the one league game so I think this is Ospina's big chance. Think he'l carry on playing until he makes an error.
