Meh, Courtois is 22, De Gea is 24, Hart has been City's first choice since the age of 21 and the likes of Buffon and Neuer have been playing at a very high level since their early 20's. It's not the 80's anymore.
That being said, you could use his relative youth as an excuse if he was at least showing signs of improved decision making but he makes the same mistakes over and over again and I don't see anything about his game, other than perhaps his distribution which still leaves a lot to be desired, that has significantly improved since he first broke through. If anything his shot stopping abilities seem to have regressed. I've been a supporter of his up until recently but the time's come to accept he's not heading in the right direction.
